SHALOM - THE RAINBOW SHOP

Hello again folks! Julie and I have just spent the weekend [without Rebekah and James; thanx are due to my mother and father-in-law for their child minding ministry!] in Evesham celebrating our 11th Wedding Anniversary. And despite the inclement weather we visited Shakespaere's birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon plus Broadway and Bourton-on-the-Water in the beautiful Cotswolds.
While we were in Bourton; we visited a Christian bookshop/cafe called "Shalom - The Rainbow Shop" [run by Keith & Jennie Hemming] where we looked at their range of Christian books, CD's et al and enjoyed a nice pot of tea c/w scones, cream and jam. This little place was a spiritual oasis and has its own testimony in its very existence.
As with most Christian businesses/ministries; they have had to overcome significant odds [financial; spiritual etc.] just to get going and keep going. Bob and Maria Mitchell have shown us a Christian bookshop in Hastings that has an occultic shop opposite and the same is true in Boscastle, Cornwall and other places in the UK [another 'sign of the times'].
So I am pleased to recommend this place to any of you who live in Gloucestershire or thereabouts; or if you are on holiday or on your travels in that area of England. I've lost count of the testimonies I've heard where the Lord has triumphed in seemingly impossible or improbable circumstances.
The question that this visit has prompted me to ask is this: Do we have a road-block in our life of faith that needs to be totally trusted to the Lord???
God bless you and God bless Israel ... KeithJS ... 07-Sep-2008
