Hello again folks! The Gaza 'ceasefire' is loosely holding; dependent on Hamas not trying to blow up Israeli army patrols outside its borders or weapon smuggling tunnels being re-opened by Hamas to re-stock their arsenal. I received two [2] articles from 'Israel Today' that I want to share with you:
The first article reads that a senior UN official has now admitted that Hamas did indeed fire from UN facilities during the recent Gaza war. At that time the United Nations repeated Palestinian accusations that Israeli forces had fired on UN facilities in the Hamas-ruled territory without provocation. But now that the war is over, and fewer people are paying attention, UN Humanitarian Affairs Chief John Holmes attacked Hamas for making "cynical" use of public civilian facilities across Gaza during the fighting. He also admitted that Hamas is largely responsible for humanitarian aid not reaching the people of Gaza. His statement was not widely reported by the mainstream international media. No surprises there.
The second article reports that there has been a 25% increase [from 56% to 81%] of Arab Israelis who want their children to remain in the Jewish state; rather that re-settle elsewhere in the West or other Arab states. This shows again that the outright lie that Arabs are a persecuted and victimized portion in the Jewish state of Israel. In fact ... it is Jews [and Christians] who suffer from severe discrimination and persecution in Arab countries. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! And please also be reminded that Israel is the only western democracy in the Middle East with Judeo-Christian ethics [I do not consider Iraq a 'true' democracy - yet - more on that in a future blog].
You check this out for yourself. And then maybe you will see this uneven playing field of political manipulation of the mass media against Israel; but for her many enemies. Remember too that God wants both Jews and gentiles to be saved. "... Even so, come, Lord Jesus" [Revelation 22:20b].
God bless you and God bless Israel ... KJS ... 29-Jan-2009
