ANOTHER SIGN OF THE TIMES
Hello again folks! A 'Happy Fathers Day' to you too! There are all kinds of things happening concurrently, either gradually or totally, fulfilling the revealed prophetic Word of God - whether they are reported via the normal mass media news channels - or not. I am always telling folks to keep an eye on Israel and specifically Jerusalem; that is one of the givens with respect to end times theology [also known as eschatology]. But there are other 'signs' that the LORD Jesus Christ warned us here today about in these days:
In Matthew 24-25; Mark 13 and Luke 21 we have the record of what is known as the 'Olivet Discourse' [in other words; the words of Jesus uttered on the Mount of Olives just before He completed the Work of His Father]. Much is made [and quite rightly] of the warning signs of the end times. These include increasing earthquakes; pestilences [diseases; epidemics]; hatred; ethnic rivalry and, of course, four times as much as all the other 'signs': deception.
One other sign that we have all got used to hearing about - a kind of 'normal' headline - particularly since 'Band Aid' in 1984 is famine and starvation. In the above link; it is being reported that there are now one billion [that's 1,000,000,000] souls in this world are starving and undernourished. That's roughly one sixth [1/6] of population earth. A sad fulfillment of one of the 'signs of the times' that is overlooked as we focus on other things that are going on. On the other hand; Jesus is coming back soon; every morning we awake in, His return is one day nearer! We need a holy balance when we drink in and breathe in the current world machinations.
We mustn't forget the widows; the hungry and the call for True justice while we [sometimes] go around proclaiming: "We told you so!". End time scriptures are one of the most effective True Gospel calls to all folks. Every word of His Word urges repentance and reconciliation to the Father of Lights in some degree. And, yes, it does warn about what is coming upon us too. It's all about correct balance. There is more than one layer to God's Word. Maybe these wise words of Solomon are on more than one level:
"A false balance is an abomination to the LORD, But a just weight is His delight." [Proverbs 11:1; NASB]
This blog was intended to be going in a different direction but, once again, we are where we are at for good reasons. Be Bereans; watchmen must warn; evangelists must compel. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and may God bless you. God bless you and God bless Israel ... Keith J Sinclair ... 21-Jun-2009
