Hello again folks! Apologies for the lack of blogs this week ... just a little busy on not a few fronts ... that's all! Football is replete with adages and sayings. One, for example, is: "It's a game of two halves". I'm pleased that the English football squad has qualified for the 2010 World Cup in 2010 and I think that Fabio Capello is a good soccer manager.
But what he said on Wednesday night after one of his substitutes [David Beckham] had played for barely 30 minutes but won the 'Man of the Match' award was far and away the BEST football quote that I've ever heard ... it made me laugh and reinforced a blatant truth.
He said the decision to make midfielder David Beckham man of the match in Wednesday's 3-0 win over Belarus as "like giving President Barack Obama the Nobel Peace Prize". Never a truer word spoken in jest. An idiom if ever there was one.
But something also for the man on the street to consider - if he's willing: Just why was the first black muslim US President Mubarack Hussein Obama awarded the Nobel Peace Prize after just finishing his honeymoon period in the job? It really is like a substitute winning the 'Man of the Match' award isn't it? There's a huge iceberg here me thinx. Please remember to be Be Bereans folks! Watchmen must warn; evangelists must compel; DO NOT BE DECEIVED! >>> and watch that periphery!
God bless you and God bless Israel ... Keith JS ... 18-Oct-2009
