Hello again folks! Back in the days when we at the Sinclair clan held house church; I preached and taught not a few times. I visited our 'old' church Temple Baptist Church in Wolverhampton last Sunday; and whilst fingering through my KJV; I found some notes secreted away of a preach I did a few years back on the subject of faith. Here are those notes for your perusal - and hopefully - your edification; exhortation and use:
"The just shall live by his faith" [Habakkuk 2:4]
Hebrew: אֱמוּנָה
English transliteration: emunah - pronounced "em-oo-naw" - Strongs #530
Meanings: firmness; security; fidelity; set office; stability; steady; truly; truth; verily
"The just shall live by faith" [Romans 1:17]
"No man justified by the law ... the just shall live by faith" [Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38]
Greek: πίστις
English transliteration: pistis - pronounced "pis-tis" - Strongs #4102
Meanings: persuasion; credence; conviction; reliance; assurance; belief; believe; faith; fidelity
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen ... Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." [Hebrews 11:1;3]
Faith therefore must:
  • have works following
  • resist steadfastly
  • have prayer
  • be sound
  • have love
  • be unwavering
  • be lived by
  • endure trials
  • be held
  • be in action when we ask
  • work patience
  • be contended for
  • be in Jesus

I hope that the above message/outline or 'blast from the past' [so to speak!] does indeed bless you at this particular time. Be evangelists; Be Bereans; DO NOT BE DECEIVED! and watch that periphery!

God bless you and God bless Israel ... Keith JS ... 24-Dec-2009
