THOSE NEW-OLD POLITICS?

Hello again folks! Have you seen the press corps. in the back garden of 10 Downing Street today publicizing our new twin-headed government? I've heard all the soundbites from both leaders of the coalition and the buzzword appears to be those "... new politics ..."!

I was talking with the guys [and gals] at work this week about what's 'appening at Westminster and there was one common thread: "What new politics?". The same fellows who were lambasting each other and Gordon Brown in those three [3] TV debates [and nationally in their campaigns] are now the best of buddies ... even sharing a joke ot two [seemingly].

To me there seems to be a high proportion of Lib Dem MP's in the Cabinet and higher levels of government than the vote ratio between the parties permits. That tells me how desperate the Conservatives were to form a coalition and how strong the hand of the Lib Dems was in those "negotiations".

No; I don't believe that there are any "new politics" abounding in London right now. More like the same old parties doing the same old deals to retain the same old power ... but maybe just a little more out in the open than usual this time around. There really is "... nothing new under the sun ..." as a certain Wise man once scribed. Real Bereans [Acts 17:11] are truly needed; watchmen must warn; evangelists must compel; DO NOT BE DECEIVED and watch that periphery!

God bless you and God bless Israel ... Keith JS ... 12-May-2010
