- WE DO NEED bishops [overseers] but for the spiritual assistance of the flock - not to maintain a Nicolaitian hierarchy [see Revelation 2 & 3].
- WE DO NOT NEED vicars [male or female]; priests at all - I agree with Yacov Prasch!
- WE DO NEED: "... apostles ... prophets ... evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ" [Ephesians 4:11-12].

BISHOPS & VICARS OF THE FEMALE KIND
Hello again folks! Before we went out for a walk this afternoon and while I was doing 'stuff' in the house; I happened to hear some dialogue on one of those inane discussion programmes on Sunday mornings on BBCTV. One of the interviewees decried the fact that the CoE will be [or is now] installing women bishops. He stated that biblical leadership was male and that if he couldn't find an accommodation within the Anglican communion; he would leave to join another 'denomination'. And we all know what that would be: Rome.
As when women vicars were approved for ordination; we had whole swathes of Anglicans leaving Canterbury for Rome in a kind of reverse-reformation. They felt so strongly about women vicars [and now bishops]; that they were willing to return 'home ' to the Vatican-based mariolatry cult also known as the roman catholic church. Which has many more and worse doctrinal and liturgical error than the CoE. If one feels so strongly about the issue of women in leadership and is so compelled to leave; aren't there much more important and 'controversial' issues that give reason to make such dramatic declarations?
For the record; the word vicar can mean: " a person who acts in place of another; deputy". In other words; the very title can be taken to mean "in place of" or "vicarious" [the title of the pope - for instance]. The very title vicar implies someone taking a position between a soul and God. The Bible tells us that: "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." [I Timothy 2:5].
It's ridiculous to get steamed up about women bishops; women priests; women vicars et al when there are far more important issues to deal with. Such as the embrace of the church in general of the THEORY of evolution; the lack of teaching of eschatology [end times doctrine]; the embrace of eastern mysticism; the embrace of false easy believism in place of the true gospel [i.e. the Alpha course or the 'purpose driven life' et al] and the total surrender to the islamic lobby.
Real Bereans [Acts 17:11] are truly needed; watchmen must warn; evangelists must compel; DO NOT BE DECEIVED and watch that periphery!
