THOUGHT OF THE DAY [1]

Hello again folks! Here's a thought to start this series of thoughts off:

"And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold." [Matthew 24: 12]

The Greek word for: "love" in the above passage is: "agape". This is the word for the unconditional love that people only have because God has given it to them. This means that for those folks whose [agape] love is growing cold, we must conclude that they must have had it in the first place via a relationship with God.

Many folks these days bemoan the lack of respect for authority, parents and almost everything else. Some attribute it to the failing influence of 'the Church' and as a 'sign of the times'. But it is much more significant than this and not only because it is part of the Olivet Discourse. The Lord Jesus Christ is actually saying that the love of believers will grow cold in the Last Days. The root causes for this are many but the primary reason for such mass apathy is lack of obedience, lack of love for the Word and [not forgetting] deception. I guess we all need sometimes to take a fresh look at those familiar scriptures and in this case, ask ourselves whether our own professed [agape] love is fading away or it is simply not a high enough priority in our lives.

Real Bereans [Acts 17:11] are truly needed; watchmen must warn; evangelists must compel; DO NOT BE DECEIVED and watch that periphery!

God bless you and God bless Israel ... KJS ... 05-May-2013
