MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT: SOUTH MIDLANDS DAY CONFERENCE [SDHS]

Hello again folks! I have just received this flyer and notification from The Society For Distributing Hebrew Scriptures [SDHS] regarding a forthcoming meeting over at The River School in Worcester. The meeting commences at 1:00PM on Saturday 16th May 2015 and will run for three [3] hours.

The SDHS do an absolutely marvellous job in getting the Word out in Hebrew to our far flung Jewish friends and those of us blessed enough to want to learn the Absolute language. So - if you are in the area - why not make a date and be blessed?

ELECTION EDIFICATION

Hello again folks! What a joy it was to hear UKIP leader Nigel Farage say on national TV this morning that he would offer asylum and be very comfortable with giving sanctuary to Christians trying to flee persecution [by muslims] in the Middle East and North Africa via the treacherous waters of the Mediterranean Sea. For that statement alone, he has my vote in the forthcoming General Election.

KNOWN BY THEIR FRUITS [2]

Hello again folks! There is nothing more galling to me than the mounting news reports finally reaching the ears of the masses that muslim immigrants fleeing from Libya towards Italy literally threw twelve [12] souls from their dinghy, effectively drowning them. Sadly, despite the watering down of the news stories like this - especially when the General Election in the UK is grabbing all the headlines - there is no smoke without fire.

We must pray for the miraculous and immediate evangelization of those poor souls trapped in this religion of moon worship which not only kills those of no faith or of other faiths without compunction but also slaughters those of its own belief system too. Only the cutting edge of the True Gospel and the the work of The Holy Spirit through selfless and obedient servants can achieve this.

TOP URGENT: PLEASE PRAY FOR IRAQI CHRISTIANS OF QUARAGOSH

Hello again folks! Please read this message Christian author Dr. Richard Kent who has literally just received this message from Reverend Andrew White, the Vicar of Baghdad in the last hour thus:

"The islamist group [ISIS] has just taken over Quaragosh, the biggest Christian city in Iraq. Hundreds of men, women and children are being beheaded. The people are asking for prayers to be made on their behalf concerning the ongoing atrocity in their country. Please take one minute to pray for them. Pass the message across to all your contacts so that the prayer chain will not be broken. They asked for this special prayer. Please, ensure you pass across the prayer request to the Body of Christ for fervent prayers offered on behalf of the brothers, sisters and children in Iraq. This is an urgent SOS. May God bless you. From Andrew White, the Vicar of Baghdad."

THE CHURCHIAN AND THE CHRISTIAN

Amusing yet true.
Hello again folks! The definition of a Churchian is accurately described above. Whilst we shouldn't forsake the assembling with one another [Hebrews 10:25], a Churchian is wedded to attendance and duty whereas a Christian is a part of the Body of Christ, is wedded to his or her Master and serves Him through it.

Don't do church ... Be the Church.

PEACE WILL COME

Hello again folks! I have always loved the above quotation and words of wisdom of former Israeli PM Golda Meir. But one has to realise, biblically, that the True Shalom peace will not come until the Prince of Peace - the LORD Jesus Christ returns. So when we pray for the peace of Jerusalem [Psalm 122:6-7] - and by extension Israel - we are praying for the return of the Messiah. It will not be a demonically inspired false peace nor the invention of fallen men, it will be the real deal enforced by the Lion of Judah.

SUFFICIENT FOR THE DAY

Hello again folks! The current General Election campaign here in the UK means that political parties are throwing out all kinds of so-called 'policies' to tempt folks to vote for them. One of the policies being touted offer folks the chance to leave their legacy 'tax-free' to their dependents. Another policy just introduced offers the opportunity to spend your pension pot now instead of later in life.

There is nothing wrong in making plans for the future. But I was drawn to a couple of scriptures in Matthew chapter six [6] this morning that the LORD Jesus Christ puts in complete context:

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? ... So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:25,34

My point is that, biblically speaking, our life should be lived one day at a time. We are not certain of tomorrow but we can be sure of today. There's no harm in making plans but our life should not be built on temporal things that are maybe yet to happen - or not - as the case may be. This is the reason that daily prayer for day-to-day provision is encouraged in The Lord's Prayer thus:

"Give us this day our daily bread." ~ Matthew 6:11

YOU SHALL KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS

Hello again folks! The mass murder of one hundred and forty eight [148] Christian students at the Garissa University College in Kenya is a reality check if not another reminder of the threat of militant islamists, not only in eastern Africa but worldwide. We are told that they are extremist and do not represent true islam but far too many instances have occurred to accept the excuses of islamist apologists.

Rather than launch into a tirade against islam, as some have done, I have been thinking on a certain piece of Holy writ spoken by the LORD Jesus Christ and found in Matthew chapter 7, verses 16-20 thus:

"Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."

Quite clearly, the fruit of islam is not good. You can therefore draw your own conclusions from the above scripture. The only thought that has entered my head about this incident is that those involved in this cowardly attack and those who make excuses for them repent of their heinous sins soon.

JOURNEY TO JERUSALEM: THE EMPTY TOMB

Hello again folks! I had the great pleasure of visiting Israel with my good friends Bob Mitchell and Bob Waughman back in May 2008 and whilst I was there I had the blessing of visiting a certain tomb in Jerusalem. Being as we are celebrating and remembering the fulfillment of Passover by the LORD Jesus Christ and the fact that the tomb is very much EMPTY - being as the original occupant rose from the dead nearly two thousand [2,000] years ago! - I thought that it would be appropriate to share some of my photographs of the occasion with you thus:

CARTOONS DO NOT ALWAYS OFFEND

Hello again folks! Unlike islam which, for some strange reason finds pictures [or cartoons] of its founder  'offensive' - I like to think that there is a no harm in depictions of the LORD Jesus Christ as long as they are not gratuitous or out-and-out blasphemous in nature. I spotted the above cartoon the other day and it made me smile because it combines the celebration of the most marvellous Miracle of all time with an observation of the habits we 'endure' in the present day. Enjoy it for what it is.

HOPE FOR THE BACKSLIDDEN

Hello again folks! Although Easter is - and never was - a valid substitute for Passover, I was reminded this morning of a certain scripture spoken by the LORD Jesus Christ before He was betrayed by a certain Judas Iscariot in which He corrected an enthusiastic Peter:

"Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. After that he poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all." [John 13:3-10; KJV]

For some strange reason, the Inspired words [and Word] of verse ten [10] stood out. "He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean ..." This scripture, to me, suggests that just as salvation is only a prayer away, so also is forgiveness for those who have been washed but have soiled their feet with unconfessed sin and/or disobedience. Whilst I'm no fan of the "once saved, always saved" theorem, there is comfort if not hope for the backslidden with these words.
