Hello again folks! The current General Election campaign here in the UK means that political parties are throwing out all kinds of so-called 'policies' to tempt folks to vote for them. One of the policies being touted offer folks the chance to leave their legacy 'tax-free' to their dependents. Another policy just introduced offers the opportunity to spend your pension pot now instead of later in life.

There is nothing wrong in making plans for the future. But I was drawn to a couple of scriptures in Matthew chapter six [6] this morning that the LORD Jesus Christ puts in complete context:

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? ... So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:25,34

My point is that, biblically speaking, our life should be lived one day at a time. We are not certain of tomorrow but we can be sure of today. There's no harm in making plans but our life should not be built on temporal things that are maybe yet to happen - or not - as the case may be. This is the reason that daily prayer for day-to-day provision is encouraged in The Lord's Prayer thus:

"Give us this day our daily bread." ~ Matthew 6:11

Real Bereans [Acts 17:11] are truly needed; watchmen must warn; evangelists must compel; DO NOT BE DECEIVED and watch that periphery!

God bless you and God bless Israel ... KJS ... 12-Apr-2015
