THE UNBRIDGEABLE CHASM

Hello again folks! I watched a TV programme entitled "My Son The Jihadi" the other night. It was a documentary about an English convert to islam who ultimately ended up being killed in Somalia. I truly felt for the devastated mother mourning the loss of her son.

The Somali wife of the deceased saying that she believed that her husband was now in heaven after being felled by a snipers bullet whilst filming a savage attack on innocent civilians. I was saddened more thinking about a bereft widow who honestly believes that there would be such a positive reward from allah for her husband, killed in jihad.

It occurred to me that this demonstrated another absolute opposite in the tenets of islam and Christianity. There are many islamic terrorists going about their missions in certain areas of the world in the belief that what they are doing - i.e. beheading and murdering those who they choose - will bring them immense benefits should they be killed in action. The Bible is the last Word for True Christians and just two [2] scriptures bring home the unbridgeable chasm between islam and Christianity:

"But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie." ~ Revelation 22:15

"Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him." ~ I John 3:15

RATTLE THAT LOCK

Hello again folks! I have the new David Gilmour album "Rattle That Lock" playing in my car at the moment [it was a gift from my wife] as I drive from home to work and back every weekday. It's funny how, even in a secular song, lyrics jump out at you, especially when you hear these words within the title track:

"So long Sin, au revoir Chaos ..."

Those words - taken a little out of context [as are many Bible passages by many Christians and Churchians occasionally to justify a certain stance] - remind me that True Believers have so much to look forward to, even if present times are challenging. The Word tells us:

"O Death, where is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
~ I Corinthians 15:55-57 ~

I love finding [or hearing] these little nuggets from time to time, especially when they are so unexpected.

Real Bereans [Acts 17:11] are truly needed, watchmen must warn; evangelists must compel, DO NOT BE DECEIVED and watch that periphery!

THE LAST WORD

Hello again folks! Some believe that the last chapter of the Book of Revelation is a footnote to be ignored. But folks should be reminded that there is a warning contained in verses 18-19 directed at those who would be apologists for those who would come along later watering down the Word of God, and more specifically, the prophecies of the Book of Unveiling, thus:

"For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." ~ Revelation 22:18-19

Why do I quote the above inspired Word? The final book of the Bible was written - most probably - in the first century. Mohammed was born in 570CE and he died in 632CE aged 62 years. He lived and died some five [5] centuries after the Book of Revelation was revealed and written. At first the koran was revealed verbally before being 'published' much later. Muslims believe the book of divine guidance revealed from God to Muhammad through the angel Gabriel over a period of 23 years and believe it to be final revelation to humanity by their god. This is a direct contradiction to the teaching of the inspired Word of God [YHWH] and the above quoted scripture. Despite there being common texts in the Bible and the koran [i.e. the Pentateuch or first five [5] books of the Old Testament], the reader of of Revelation 22:18-19 has eventually to make a personal decision on whether to heed the warning therein or risk doubting or even ignoring it in light of the claims of islam, a religion which came several centuries later. After all, it is the last Word - bar two [2] verses. The Lord Jesus Christ wants none to perish and that includes all muslims but remember, if you can't stand on One Pillar, another pillar will fall on you.

Real Bereans [Acts 17:11] are truly needed, watchmen must warn; evangelists must compel, DO NOT BE DECEIVED and watch that periphery!
