Funeral Thoughts [2]

#223: Hello again folks! I've been having a little hiatus this last week. Recharging my batteries - so to speak. Today was [sadly] the funeral of Mr. Kelly [Michael] Groucutt and my thoughts continue to go out to his wife Anna and brother John [amongst others].

For me, funerals tend to focus the mind on the brevity of life on one hand; and the celebration of life on the other. Life can take away a lot of things but it can't take away your memories! I've just been visiting with my good friend Christian Evans looking at a sizeable collection of photographs from the days that we used to see Kelly a lot and also our back stage visit with ELO II back in 1993. Now, that was a true lifetime ambition fulfilled [as was my trip to Israel last year].
So today I've been thinking about the blessings I've been granted in my life and the gift of association with those souls who have crossed my path. When I think of the tapestry of encounters in my own lifetime; I only praise and thank God for His grace [unmerited favour]. Not only in my 'temporal' experiences but also, of course, in the spiritual aspects of life.
You know, I have so much to write; say; express and communicate to you and my intention is always to be a blessing to you and to prompt you to check things out for yourselves whilst encouraging you to be Bereans. I'll speak to you again tomorrow. In the meantime; watchmen must warn and evangelists must compel! Time is short. Thank you for crossing my path folks!
God bless you and God bless Israel ... KJS ... 09-March-2009
