#891: Hello again folks! What started out over twelve (12) years ago as Heresy Watch (but is now, of course, entitled KJS Berean Beacon) on Thursday 8th May 2008 (you can read that first article here) today reached the milestone of 200,000 page views!

It's taken 890 articles over 4,527 days or almost 149 months to get there covering a multitude of subject matter. My hope and prayer is that this blog has helped someone somewhere find the LORD Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour and that my writings and/or musings have blessed True Christians in some small way during that time. In other words that it has born good fruit.

Study Seed: First Estate

#890: Hello again folks! Today I would like to plant what I call a study seed. Here it is: Have you ever read your Bible and noticed a certain common denominator when it comes to those who fell from their original positions? Have a think about these seven (7) persons/entities who literally left (or will leave) their first estate as Jude (v.6) termed it and keep an eye out for a forthcoming article ...

Satan (Lucifer)

The Nephilim (Genesis 6)

Adam (Eden)

Esau (birthright)

Saul (anointed)

Judas Iscariot (disciple)

'Christians' who will accept the Mark of the Beast

Days of Noah versus Days of Lot

#889: Hello again folks! Whilst recently reading the Olivet Discourse and the words of the LORD Jesus Christ regarding the signs of His Second Advent, I was struck by the differences betwixt the accounts of the days of Noah and the days of Lot. In both accounts we are told that the people were eating and drinking but this writer finds it most interesting that in the days of Noah marriage is mentioned but it is absent in the days of Lot (likely due to rampant sexual immorality and deviancy) whereas we are told that folks were buying, selling, planting and building (business as usual) in and around Sodom and Gomorrah.

There is much to consider regarding both scenarios when we look at the social and commercial landscape described in the Book of Revealing in terms of the Beast system and the abject violence and persecution against True believers when we also compare the attitudes of the people to the angels lodged with Lot and the worldwide reaction to the death of the two witnesses. This is a Bible study that you should conduct yourself. Nevertheless, expect a more detailed overview of the days of Noah and Lot in a forthcoming article ...

"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." ~ Matthew 24:37-38

"And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed." ~ Luke 17:26-30

Without Me You Can Do Nothing

#888: Hello again folks! When the LORD Jesus Christ spoke these words as recorded in the Gospel of John chapter fifteen (15) verse five (5), He meant it on very many levels ...

"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."

There is a good mathematical, logical reason why I say this for in this present world there are two spiritual families, the children of the devil (John 8:44) and the children of God (Romans 8:16). There is a stark reality in how God sees us, in the natural we are dead in our sins (John 8:24) yet if we are in the process of being saved and have accepted the LORD Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour (John 3:16). In terms of the eternal value of our lives and the things that we do, there is a simple equation to highlight the vast difference between the two aforementioned spiritual clans.

Imagine dividing the sum total of your life by zero or dividing it by one. In a purely binary way, the efforts of the natural man will always be divided by zero. Whether you have achieved one milestone or many, any number divided by zero will always be zero hence the efforts, however good or bad, of the unsaved in heavenly, eternal terms mean nothing without Christ. On the other hand, the redeemed man (or woman) can have confidence that, because they have been adopted of God thanx to the wonderful price paid by the LORD Jesus Christ on the cross and His resurrection, every action and act has value for in the family of God our efforts are divided by one. Whether one talent, two or five (or mored), our lives make an eternal difference as we become living sacrifices.

The Good News is that any repentant soul can trade families by accepting the LORD Jesus Christ as your Saviour and change from a zero to a one in an instant ...
