Food For Thought

#899: One undeniable truth is that most folks (including the then 'experts') completely failed to recognize the first coming of the LORD Jesus Christ even though miracles were a plenty and they were armed with scriptures galore. Lately I've been wondering if there's a chance that history could repeat itself for His Second Coming. There are multiple warnings about deception in the last days both from the LORD and His disciples and many Christians appear to have mapped out all the scenarios - depending on their view of the timing of the rapture and other key events.

But what if Daniel's seventieth week has already happened? And what if the New Covenant began when Jesus was baptized by John? And what if the abomination of desolation was the Son of God being crucified at Golgotha/Calvary? What if the first half of those seven years were His earthly ministry and the second 1,260 days was the initial outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the early Church after Pentecost? What if there is no third temple as we currently understand it? What if antichrist is a spirit or spirits and not a specific person or personality? What if ...

The answer is that it would completely change ones view of the end times. It would mean a complete re-examining of everything that this writer has been taught and come to accept for over 35 years. What if the last days scenario is not what folks are expecting just as it was 2,000 years ago upon Jesus' first advent? The Bible tells us to test all things, prove all things, compare scripture with scripture and to be Bereans. In these dark days, I am suggesting that we never cease from doing those very things even if it challenges our long held preconceptions. Just in case things do not turn out exactly the way that we think or even believe they might. Food for thought indeed ...

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." (John 3:16-17)

At this pivotal time, it is essential that True Christians and others CHECK WHAT IS BEING REPORTED FOR THEMSELVES and follow the example of the Bereans. Are you?

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." (Jeremiah 29:11)

Real Bereans (Acts 17:11) are truly needed, watchmen must WARN, evangelists must COMPEL, do not be DECEIVED and WATCH that PERIPHERY!
God bless you ... KJS ... 30th December 2020
